Position Summary The Coordinator of Athletic Marketing and Events will coordinate the marketing of all NSU Athletic events and help lead game operations, fan experience and sponsor relations within the department. This position will assist with all special events within the department. Nature and Scope ? The Coordinator will report to the Director of Athletics. ? Develop comprehensive advertising and promotional campaigns to increase attendance at all NSU Athletic events including increasing student attendance at events. Consistently review national trends for attendance and bring new ideas to enhance promotion of all athletic events. ? Foster relationships with key Offices on campus to improve overall student life experience on campus, including cross-promotional opportunities at various campus events. ? Assist with game operations of athletic events including game scripts, music, set-up, promotions, and guest and donor relations at events to enhance the game experience, and generate an exciting game atmosphere. Serve as game director for football and basketball events and schedule and instruct all personnel (video board staff, public address announcer, etc) on all relevant information throughout day of event. ? Develop comprehensive plan and detailed organization for management of digital media (e.g., videoboard) in Wachs Arena and Dacotah Bank Stadium including experience with Show Control software and implementation into flow of each athletic event. ? Collaborate with the Assistant AD of External Operations to ensure marketing commitments are fulfilled by reviewing marketing/advertising agreements for fulfillment.
Training and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred. Successful candidates will have experience in Athletic Marketing (sports marketing, event management, or related fields), or equivalent experience in sales. Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required. Excellent writing skills required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with Adobe Suite preferred and video editing experience. Experience with Show Control. Establish and maintain effective working relationships within intercollegiate athletics, the Foundation, and the University to increase revenue and the fan/student experience at all NSU Athletic events.
