Director, Physician Marketing Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Boston, MA Full time (Remote: 2-3 days remote/week)
The Director of Physician Marketing supports the mission of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute by broadening awareness of the impact of Dana-Farber’s world-class cancer care, research, and innovation among local, regional, national, and international physicians. The Director will play a central role in developing strategy and creating, activating, and overseeing implementation of all programs and activities designed to grow reputation of and referrals to the Institute among physicians and other professional influencers.
This position will report to the Vice President of Marketing and will collaborate across the Institute with leaders in marketing, communications, business development, clinical operations, key clinicians and researchers, external vendors, partners and others as necessary. Employees must reside in MA, NH or RI.
Develops strategy to grow reputation of and referrals to the Institute among physicians and other professional influencers.
Oversees implementation of marketing, branding, and advertising programs to physicians on behalf of Dana-Farber.
Plans and executes proactive physician referral programs with emphasis on high priority disease states.
Plans and implements national physician reputation program focused on USNWR ranking.
Plans, directs, and manages regional physician liaison program to generate referrals and satisfy service needs of referring physicians.
Leads development and implementation of an automated physician relationship marketing program to enable more robust, end-to-end targeting, tracking and greater engagement with physicians.
Collaborates with digital marketing, operations, business intelligence, and business development to develop initiatives designed to enhance physician reputation and drive patient referrals.
Creates and implements an ongoing content plan in support of reputation building and referrals to the Institute and satellites.
Develops physician marketing plans to support current and future DFCI satellite locations.
Creates, promotes, and conducts CME programs, Grand Rounds, and other physician outreach events.
Supports Dana-Farber presence and physician engagement at high profile oncology conferences and events.
Works in collaboration with business partners (Brigham & Women’s Hospital for adult oncology and Boston Children’s Hospital for pediatric oncology) to support growth initiatives.
Creates an analytics dashboard for on-going reporting of results, productivity and, when possible, ROI.
Manages a team including Physician Liaisons, Senior Marketing Specialist, and Marketing Specialist positions.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, healthcare administration or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
7 years’ experience in marketing within a healthcare organization.
Extensive experience building brands and marketing to physicians.
