Purpose of this Position:
The purpose of this position is to serve as the primary communications professional for the institution and to successfully lead the branding and marketing of the organization. The Marketing Director is responsible for establishing, promoting and maintaining the Hill-Murray brand by developing strategies and executing tactics that communicate the Hill-Murray brand message.
Hill-Murray School is a co-educational Catholic (Benedictine and Lasallian) college prep school serving grades 6-12. We are located in Maplewood, Minnesota, a suburb of St. Paul. Our student population is expected to grow to 950 students over the next few years and draws from St. Paul, nearby suburbs, and western Wisconsin communities. With an average class size of 23, Hill-Murray is committed to providing the individual attention needed to ensure that each student reaches his or her potential, and that each student feels known, loved and respected.
Hill-Murray offers an innovative schedule with a diverse rigorous curriculum and an integral co-curricular program stressing emotional intelligence along with the school’s Catholic charism. Beginning in middle school, we place our students on the path to college and work readiness, with a challenging curriculum that is critical to our mission.
Coursework is offered on a semester system, with a course load consisting of six to seven classes per semester. An Honors Level program, College In the Schools (CIS) and Advanced Placement (AP) courses are available for students who meet the academic criteria as is a “Scholars” program that allows more individualized options for students with a specific passion.
The school recently made significant capital improvements and investments in innovative teaching tools and has enjoyed six years of increased enrollment. In addition, the school is in the middle of a $35 million dollar endowment campaign aimed at further empowering the school's ability to provide an innovative and relevant curriculum.
Hill-Murray teachers are more than classroom educators. They are actively involved with the students as coaches, advisors, moderators, and tutors. Our small class sizes allow teachers to maintain well-disciplined classrooms, offer individual attention to each student, and hold high expectations for all. In addition, our middle and upper school counseling departments, clinical psychologist, and a college guidance office to assist all of our students during their years at Hill-Murray.

Staff of Hill-Murray are considered employees of the Catholic Church and are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church and of Hill-Murray. All employees are required to read and agree to a Code of Conduct annually, which is a requirement of employment. Violations of the code will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Major Accountabilities and Measures of Success:
Development and implementation of cohesive marketing strategies and marketing plans including campaigns, events, social media, digital marketing, and PR
Increase brand awareness and reach across multiple platforms
Work closely with Admissions and Development teams, assist in meeting objectives by providing appropriate tools, materials and presentations
Execute all of the marketing tasks and tactics pertaining to launching a campaign, event or fundraising effort
Create and execute personalized marketing campaigns to Hill-Murray stakeholders utilizing Salesforce tools including:
Pardot email campaigns
Salesforce Social media suite
Mogli for texting
Oversee social media marketing platforms
Manage social media presence and create campaigns to improve social media engagement, reputation and recognition
Create all social media content strategy and execution
Lead content development
Review and implementation of the Brand strategy
Direct and oversee all design work
Maintain the core brand messaging
Direct creative and hire appropriate vendors to produce all marketing materials including brochures, flyers, online marketing, social media posts, etc. to continuously build our brand
Analytical data gathering
Word of Mouth Marketing
Work with committee chair and project manager to create, execute and manage marketing plan
Manage the marketing and communications budget within parameters set by the President and the Board
Manage all communications
Schedule, manage, edit and send bi-weekly digital newsletter
Edit and send all communications from the President

Compensation depends on qualifications and experience. This is not a teacher scale position and is considered part of the leadership team at the school.

A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications or education is preferred. 3-5 years of applicable experience is desired.
